Membership Types/Rates

Individual Memberships

SCTE Member 2015

Executive Membership - Open to those in an organizational management or leadership capacity who has an interest in the purposes of the Society or who is employed full or part time in the engineering or technical operations, cable television, broadband communications or broadcasting systems. The individual must hold a position of director or higher and the dues for this membership level are $150 a year. Professional Membership
-Open to any person who has an interest in the purposes of the Society or who is employed full or part time in the engineering or technical operations, cable television, broadband communications or broadcasting systems. A professional membership is $85 a year.

Calendar Year Memberships
All individual members will be moving to a calendar year membership shortly (January – December). Members will be provided with additional detail during their invoice period. Going forward, the renewal period will begin October 1st.

All new individual members are welcome to join at any time, however membership is based on the calendar year (January - December) and not the anniversary of your join date. If you join between, July – September, you only need to pay 50% of the dues rate. Those joining during the renewal period (October – December) will start receiving benefits during that time and their membership will extend through the rest of next year.

Lifetime Membership - $950
Avoid future price changes and the hassle of annual renewal invoices with the brand-new lifetime professional membership category. As a lifetime professional member, your one-time payment of $950 allows you to take advantage of all of the benefits of SCTE without having to renew annually. To ensure continuous membership with no hassles, this membership option is for you.

In Transition Members
Individuals who have been displaced from a job within the broadband industry are eligible to receive a 50% discount on SCTE professional membership dues. If you are currently in transition, please call SCTE Member Services at (800) 542-5040 or email

Retired Members
Any current active SCTE member who is no longer employed full-time in the broadband industry, has been a member in good standing for a minimum of 3 years and is at least 55 years of age may apply for retired membership status. Disabled Members
Disabled persons are eligible for Retired member status, regardless of age. Fully disabled is defined as the inability to continue working in full-time employment due to illness, injury or other debilitating problem.

Student Members
Individuals who are not holding full-time employment and pursuing an engineering or technical degree or certificate at an accredited college, university or technical trade school are eligible for student membership. SCTE requires enrollment verification and expected completion date. Student membership is limited to 4 years. Corporate Memberships

SCTE Corporate Alliance Partner Program -
Conceived as a true strategic partnership between corporate members and SCTE, the Corporate Alliance Program includes a wide variety of opportunities for all constituencies to influence the training roadmap from the executive to the field level, and to leverage the work of other Corporate Alliance partners. The program and entry fees have been structured to ensure that members of all sizes have an opportunity to get maximum value from participation.

Note: Expo Partner membership does not entitle everyone in the company to member rates. Rather, the company designates one person to receive the individual benefits of membership. Expo Partner members are not eligible to vote or be a candidate in the SCTE’s Board of Directors elections. The companies’ Expo Partner member contacts may also hold an individual membership in order to receive voting rights.

– This membership offers cable telecommunications organizations an opportunity to participate in the creation, development and review of technical standards and best practices through the industry's only ANSI-accredited forum for the development of technical specifications supporting cable telecommunications.
